Groundbreakings

1. A groundbreaking for a new mixed-use microbusiness park developed by Brinshore Development will commence on March 20. The $53M investment’s 76 housing units and more than 20KSF of commercial space will be located at 620 W. Lake Mead Blvd. The housing units will range from studios to three-bedroom options, with rents of between $900 and $1800. The development is expected to be completed by 2026.

Progress Reports

2. Renown Specialty Hospital in South Meadows is nearing completion on its third floor Conrad Breast Center. The multidisciplinary and comprehensive center was partly funded by a $5M grant from Jeanne and Raymond Conrad. The facility is expected to open by this summer.

3. Two apartment complexes in Las Vegas’ Arts District are mid-construction. Southern Land Company is working on a 337-unit, three-building complex at California Avenue and 3rd Street. Together, Cedar Street Companies and Bridge Investment Group are working on a 311-unit complex at the SWC of Commerce Street and Imperial Avenue. The latter complex’s reported completion date is mid-2026.

Completions

4. Jacobs Entertainment is planning the grand opening of its new apartment complex, 245 North Arlington, in downtown Reno. Units for the complex are more spacious than the average in the area: 555SF for the studios, 823SF for the one-bedrooms, and 1.3KSF for two-bedrooms. The project broke ground in the beginning of 2022 and was initially proposed as a 130-unit condominium development. Jacobs Entertainment plans to build more housing to address Reno’s affordable housing crisis.

5. Two new specialty behavioral health facilities recently opened in Reno. Renown Health’s Crisis Care Center on Galletti Way provides short-term crisis stabilization, while Northern Nevada Health System‘s Northwest Specialty Hospital on Sharlands Avenue expanded from an eight-bed nursing facility to a 22-bed behavioral health hospital. SR Construction handled the Sharlands facility retrofit. The Sharlands hospital opened in January, followed by the Galletti facility in February.

6. Montane Building Group has completed Verdi Building No. 3 and a tenant improvement project at 1335 Quilici Ranch Road. The 7.2KSF metal building features grading, shell construction, site improvements, and tenant build-out. The first-floor spans 7.2KSF and contains the warehouse, and the 1.7KSF second floor is a mezzanine with office space.
