Giving Back

1. The PENTA Cares Foundation, PENTA Building Group’s charitable arm, contributed $235K to four southern Nevada nonprofits during its 21st Annual Charity Golf Classic. Recipients included the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, the Women’s Development Center, the Nevada Military Support Alliance and Special Olympics Nevada.

2. In honor of National Homeownership Month, Rob Tuvell of KB Home held a homeownership class for Las Vegas locals. The class was focused on making homeownership attainable for first-time buyers.

New Hires

3. Dickson Commercial Group has named Shelby Reed Operations Manager. She will oversee licensing, vendor management, IT coordination, internal communications and agent transitions. Reed brings more than a decade of experience in executive support, operations and client services across real estate, escrow and manufacturing sectors.

4. GC Garcia, Inc. has hired Angelo Carvalho as Senior Planner. He previously served as a Planning Commissioner and Chairman for the City of North Las Vegas and served on the Paradise Town Advisory Board for Clark County. Carvalho also worked as Site Superintendent for Monument Construction and has experience navigating entitlement and building permit processes.

5. Glen Martel was approved by the Carson City Board of Supervisors to serve as Carson City’s new City Manager. Martel was approved for a two-year contract and is replacing the retiring Nancy Paulson.

6. Arthur Krupicz has been appointed as the State Historic Preservation Officer for the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. In his new role, he will oversee the State’s compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act. He will also support local programs, administer federal and Nevada grant programs and work with local tribes.
