Groundbreakings
1. A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new Henderson Preschool at 122 Scarhill Track Ave. The 17KSF school will feature eight classrooms and will cost $17.6M. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
2. The City of Reno broke ground on the Riverside Drive Berm Project on Jan. 26. Construction will result in a more stable berm and sidewalk adjacent to the Truckee River to prevent flooding. Completion is targeted for spring 2026.
Progress Reports
3. Work is ongoing at Nevada HAND’s 51-unit Ogden Pines at the NEC of Ogden Avenue and Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas. The affordable housing development is scheduled to open next year and is replacing a 39-unit multifamily building.
4. Mershops announced the Galleria Mall has changed its name to Mershops Galleria at Sunset amid renovation efforts. The renovation consists of improvements to both the interior and exterior of the mall.
Completions
5. The Vegas Loop station at FontainebleauLas Vegas has officially opened. To celebrate its opening, the resort is offering free transportation for guests.
6. AOSW, LLC announced the completion of Liquor Loft LV and Dotty’s Casino at 5799 E. Russell Road in Henderson. Collectively, the building totals more than 10KSF, with construction costs coming in at nearly $5M. Liquor Loft is holding a soft opening on Feb. 13, and Dotty’s is currently operational. Suzana Rutar designed the commercial building, while Milestone Construction was the general contractor.
