
Preparations for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix will begin Sept. 2 with installation of a pedestrian bridge over Koval Lane at Rochelle Avenue. Crews will begin installing track lighting along Harmon Avenue between Las Vegas Blvd. and Koval Lane Sept. 7-18. Construction of a temporary vehicular bridge on Flamingo Road over Koval Lane is scheduled for Oct. 11-16. The 3.8-mile race circuit runs mainly along Las Vegas Blvd., Koval Lane, Harmon Avenue and Sands Avenue. The race weekend is scheduled for Nov. 19-21.
Luma School broke ground Aug. 26 at 2540 Crossbow Court in Reno. The project was designed by SCA Design, and Kalb Construction is the general contractor. Luma School is scheduled to open in fall 2027.
The Nevada Department of Transportation completed the $41M Ely Downtown Project in summer 2026. The project reconstructed sections of U.S. 50 and East Aultman Street in downtown Ely, including roadway, pedestrian, drainage, sewer and water improvements. NDOT collaborated with the City of Ely on the project.
Visions Park, a 99-unit affordable housing development serving blind and visually impaired residents, opened in Southern Nevada near the Blind Center of Nevada. The State of Nevada, Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas and City of Henderson partnered on the development.
