Progress Reports
1. Crews are in the early stages of reconstructing the Marlette Lake Damnear Spooner Lake. Granite Construction has installed cofferdams and begun excavation on the 33-ft structure. The project includes outlet pipe replacement, filter drain installation, a three-foot dam extension and 8,500 tons of buttress fill. Total project costs exceed $23M, with $10M from FEMA and the rest from the State of Nevada. Completion is expected in fall 2026.
Completions
2. Novva Data Centers has completed its 300KSF Novva Tahoe Reno colocation facility at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center in Storey County. The 60-megawatt data center spans 20 acres and includes six 10-megawatt data halls. It is Novva’s second facility in Nevada and fourth completed site in the U.S.
3. Construction is wrapping up on a new 157.6KSF Costco in the Spring Valley area of southwest Las Vegas. The project includes a gas station and a tire center. Located on Buffalo Drive south of the 215 Beltway, the store is set to open in August. Clark County approved the project in 2023. Costco received permits valued at $26.3M for the store and $3.7M for the fuel canopy.
4. Metcalf Builders has completed Valage Carson Valley, an 88-unit, 92-bed senior living community in Minden. The 79.8KSF project spans four acres and is valued at $25M. Valage Minden LLC owns the assisted living and memory care facility.
5. Clark County School District is on track to complete HVAC system replacements at 37 schools by July 22. The $5.2M project targets aging and failing units and is funded through District reserves. Work includes full system replacements prioritized by unit age and impact on students.[EH1] [EH2]
6. Superior Grocers will open its second Las Vegas Valley location on July 23 at 390 S. Decatur Blvd. The grocer first expanded into Nevada in March with a store at 1955 N. Nellis Blvd.
7. Carson City has completed renovations on eight tennis courts at John D. Winters Centennial Park. The $1.6M project, built by Spanish Springs Construction, replaced asphalt surfaces with post-tension concrete and added an ADA-accessible ramp. The improvements were funded through a combination of federal, municipal and Foundation for Carson City Parks and Recreation contributions.
