Nevada Construction Employment Adds 500 Jobs in August

The City of North Las Vegas will break ground Sept. 23 on the first phase of the I-215 Northern Beltway Trail expansion. The first phase will run parallel to I-215 from North Decatur Blvd. to Clayton Street and is expected to be completed in late 2027. Improvements include lighting, landscaping, wayfinding and interpretive signage. Phase One A will extend the trail 1.8 miles from Clayton Street to North 5th Street and is 90% designed. Phase Two is expected to begin design in late 2026 and will extend the trail from North 5th Street to Losee Road.
Fore Property Company held a ceremonial groundbreaking for Jewel, a $143M mixed-use development at 3588 S. Valley View Blvd. in Las Vegas. The roughly 10.5-acre project will include 380 apartments, 26KSF of retail space and a 14KSF clubhouse. Perlman Architects designed the project. Fore Property Company assembled the site from several landowners and completed its $24.2M purchase in spring 2025. Existing buildings have since been demolished to prepare the property for construction. First units are expected to be available in summer 2028.
Representatives of general contractor Metcalf Builders, Inc. and Dominium recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Skyline Flats. The 402-unit affordable housing community with amenities including a clubhouse, fitness center, swimming pool and play areas is located on Dandini Blvd. in Reno and is Dominium’s first construction development in Nevada.
The $106M I-40/U.S. 93 interchange project in Kingman, Ariz. is 80% complete. A new 239-foot tunnel opened this month, connecting Beale Street traffic from downtown Kingman and I-40 to U.S. 93 toward Las Vegas. Crews have completed rock blasting and sound wall construction along I-40 and are continuing work on new ramps, bridge elements and roadway improvements. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027 and will deliver 6 miles of widened or newly constructed roadway.
The $385M expansion of Durango Casino & Resort in southwest Las Vegas is nearing the midway point of construction. Suffolk Construction Company, the general contractor, recently installed the project’s largest structural steel truss. The expansion will add more than 275KSF to the north side of the property, including an expanded casino floor, a 36-lane bowling facility, luxury movie theaters and new dining and entertainment venues. The project remains on schedule to open in the second half of 2027.
On Sept. 26, Beazer Homes will hold a grand opening for Wisteria, its new single-story home community in southwest Las Vegas, at 9470 Magnolia Path St. The community features floor plans ranging from approximately 1.6KSF to 2.7KSF. Model homes will be open for tours during the grand opening.
Industrial Realty Group, LLC announced its Port of Nevada industrial development in Fernley is nearing completion. The 238.7KSF will provide industrial users with West Coast connectivity with dual Class I rail service and offers Foreign Trade Zone capabilities.
Stockman’s Casino completed a year-long remodel of its property at 1560 W. Williams Ave. in Fallon and marked the project with a Sept. 18 ribbon-cutting. The renovation included upgrades to the casino, café, kitchen and building systems. Clarity Game Nevada LLC acquired the property in April 2025.
