Groundbreakings
1. The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation broke ground on a youth sports complex near Lamb and Lake Mead blvds. in northeast Las Vegas. The facility will include a football field, boxing and MMA gym, Boys and Girls Club services and the first Communities in Schools alumni center. Completion is planned for late 2026.
2. Builders United will begin construction in July on Blue Martini, a three-level nightlife venue replacing the former Urban Outfitters at Miracle Mile Shops in Las Vegas. The project will feature multiple bars, a cantilevered deck, upgraded MEP systems and more than 100 tons of structural steel. Franchisee Blue Line Entertainment Inc. is leading development, with Development Management Associates representing the owner. RZ Design Associates is providing MEP design, RJC Engineers is handling structural engineering and Upland Architects is serving as the architect of record and interior designer.
3. Nevada Division of State Lands and partners broke ground on the Kahle Drive Complete Street Project in Stateline. The project, which is part of the larger Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program, will add sidewalks, bike lanes, crosswalks and stormwater systems along a half-mile corridor, with completion expected by fall 2026.
4. Construction is underway on Alamo Square, a 7KSF retail center at 2027 S. Virginia St. in Reno. The project, designed by Frame Architecture, will include four tenant spaces, one of which has already been leased. Logic Commercial Real Estate is managing the leasing of the remaining spaces. Completion is expected in early 2026.
5. Clark County broke ground on the Red Rock Legacy Trail, a 20-mile shared-use path connecting Summerlin to Red Rock Canyon. Phase I will build 1.1 miles of trail along Route 159 from Sky Vista Drive to the Red Rock Canyon visitor sign.
Progress Reports
6. The Nevada Department of Transportation is nearing completion of the $81M southbound I-15 widening between Sloan Road and Blue Diamond Road in Las Vegas. The project will expand the freeway up to 11 lanes, resurface bridges and install new sound walls, with final paving and improvements scheduled to be completed in December.
Completions
7. Corwin Auto Group has opened Corwin Ford Reno, a 104KSF dealership that includes 62 service bays, six quick lane bays and multiple EV charging stations. The facility held a ribbon cutting on June 26.
8. AZ Storage and RV Parking held a ribbon cutting June 23 to debut its new self-storage and RV facility at 2530 E. Commerce St. in Pahrump. The property includes 296 storage units, 48 RV spaces and commercial truck parking.
9. Alpine County reopened the basketball, pickleball and tennis courts at Turtle Rock Park following restoration work after the Tamarack Fire. New pickleball nets are installed, and the tennis net is scheduled to be installed by the end of the week.
