The Clark County Board of County Commissioners approved the allocation of $10M to redevelop the Sahara Event Center at 800 Liberace Ave. in the Historic Commercial Center.

Insomniac is working with Clark County to transform the Event Center into a venue for live music and special events. This is part of a greater effort to redevelop the Commercial Center in Las Vegas.

The $10M is an allocation and will not be distributed until a formal agreement between Insomniac and the Clark County Redevelopment Agency is formed.

According to the staff report, “To help bring the project to life, CCRDA is allocating $10M to be used for a future property purchase and building rehabilitation at the direction of the CCRDA Board.” The agreement will outline specific redevelopment activities and “qualifying expenses for reimbursement.”
