Groundbreakings
1. Metcalf Builders has broken ground on a 20.1KSF Dave & Buster’s at 13969 S. Virginia St. in south Reno. The project has an estimated value of $7.1M. This is the first Dave & Buster’s in the region. Completion is scheduled for spring 2025.
2. A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently for the Nevada State Railroad Museum on a long-vacant site the NWC of Buchanan and Boulder City Parkway in Boulder City. The project is slated to open in summer 2026. The new visitor center will contain more than 2.8KSF of permanent exhibit space, a multipurpose room, archive storage space, research room, museum store expansion, passenger loading platform, welcome plaza, office space and parking.
3. The Pioche Volunteer Fire Department has begun restoration of the firehouse on LaCour Street in Pioche. The firehouse was originally constructed in 1876. Restoration work includes a new roof, windows, structural framing and electrical work. The restoration is being funded by donations and T-shirt sales.
Progress Reports
4. The Renown Health South Meadows Campus 121KSF specialty care center is currently under construction, with an opening expected in 2025. The three-story building will be connected to the existing medical center. The new addition will include kitchen/dining facilities, a laboratory with interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization lab, a surgery center, the Conrad Breast Center and additional parking.
Completions
5. Renovations have been completed for the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa and Rampart Casino in Summerlin. The renovation included the hotel’s 548 guestrooms, fitness center updates, a new Hydra Lounge relaxation area and renovated spa treatment rooms. A new casino floor was also added. Trident served as the general contractor and construction management company.
6. Carson Valley Health at 1107 N. Hwy. 395 in Gardnerville celebrated the opening of its new expansion. The expansion shifts the emergency room entrance to the other side of the campus and includes more cardiology services, expanded emergency rooms, additional operating rooms, private patient rooms and more equipment for the medical staff. The project broke ground in October 2021.
7. SB Builders, LLC has completed the remodeling of the Tahoe Nugget Casino and the Sushi Pier restaurant. The restaurant is a part of the casino. The entire renovation spanned more than 8.7KSF and featured tongue-and-groove wood paneling, stonework and custom light fixtures.
