Groundbreakings

1. On June 23, the A’s will hold a celebratory groundbreaking ceremony for their $1.8B ballpark on the former Tropicana Hotel site. Work on the Las Vegas project began in late April, and plans indicate a 32-month work schedule. The project is expected to be completed by Opening Day of the 2028 MLB season.

2. A groundbreaking was held June 3 for a six-mile sewer line and lift station to connect Pine View Estates to the Minden-Gardnerville Sanitation District. The $18M project, backed by federal and State funds, including an $8M principal forgiveness loan, will serve the 240-home subdivision and replace a failed wastewater plant. Key participants include the USDA, Douglas County, the Minden-Gardnerville Sanitation District and the Pine View Homeowners Association.

Progress Reports

3. Construction is underway on 580 South, a $155M industrial complex at Mount Rose Highway and South Virginia Street in south Reno. The 89-acre project from Panattoni Development and Clarion Partners includes four buildings totaling more than 840KSF. Building 3 is under construction and available for lease, while vertical construction on build-to-suit Building 4 is expected to begin this month. Both are slated for completion in Q4. Permits filed with the City in 2023 list Amazon as the tenant for one of the buildings.

4. Construction is underway on a full renovation of Ross Manor, also known as Westlyn Apartments, a historic 86-unit apartment building at West and First streets in downtown Reno. The project will be renamed One18 West Apartments upon completion. The project is led by MP Core LLC, with Realty Center Management overseeing the redevelopment. Design work is from ARCaDESMA Architecture. The renovation includes interior and exterior work. Units range from 250SF studios to 700SF one-bedrooms.

5. Work is progressing on the expansion of the pickleball courts at Mills Park in Carson City. The former tennis courts are being replaced with post-tension concrete courts featuring new nets, posts and separation fencing. Portions of the surrounding grass and sidewalks remain closed during construction. Completion is expected by September.

Completions

6. Canyonlands Healthcare has opened a new clinic in Mesquite after a ribbon-cutting on June 5. The office is located at 210 N. Sandhill Blvd.
