Henderson Holding Public Comment Period for Connecting Communities Phase II
NVBEX Staff
Building on the 2024 walkability study of Boulder Highway, the City of Henderson is launching Phase II of its Connecting Communities initiative to improve pedestrian access along the Boulder Highway corridor.
This next phase introduces a community survey and updated design concepts that reflect initial public feedback collected last year. The survey, open from July 1 through Aug. 15, invites residents to weigh in on proposed improvements aimed at enhancing walkability and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
In addition to the online survey, the City will host an in-person open house on Wednesday, July 30, where residents can view conceptual designs and speak directly with project staff. The open house will be at the America First Center from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Public input is essential to shaping the final plan, which is expected to be adopted in early 2026.
The City of Henderson kicked off its efforts last September with a walkability audit led by internationally recognized urban designer and walkability advocate Jeff Speck. The audit, attended by more than 165 residents, identified key areas along Boulder Highway in need of pedestrian and cyclist improvements. (Source)
