The City of Reno and Truckee Meadows Water Authority broke ground on the Advanced Purified Water Facility, Nevada’s first facility designed to treat wastewater to drinking-water standards. The plant will treat roughly 2 million gallons of wastewater per day and inject the treated water into a groundwater aquifer near Stead Airport. The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection provided roughly $128M in State Revolving Fund financing toward construction. The facility and a planned on-site education center are expected to open in fall 2029.

PulteGroup held a grand opening for Aries, a more than 1,100-acre master-planned community on the south side of Lake Mead Parkway in Henderson. The community occupies the former Three Kids Mine site, where environmental remediation is complete. Plans call for more than 3,000 homes on and near the site. Aries has five subdivisions open for sale, with homes priced from $300K to $500K. Pulte Homes, PulteGroup’s main homebuilding brand, is selling homes in Aries, and PulteGroup-owned Del Webb is expected to begin home sales in 2027. PulteGroup has also sold lots within Aries to Richmond American Homes and D.R. Horton. The community will also include parks and recreational amenities.
