The Clark County School District is gearing up to replace Chaparral High School in Paradise with a smaller facility.

Clark County School District is the owner and developer. Carpenter Sellers Del Gatto Architects is the architect of record. A general contractor is currently pending procurement.

The replacement school will be constructed on the site of the existing school near Flamingo and Sandhill roads. The new school will have a capacity of roughly 1,800 students, while the current facility has a capacity of 2,500 students. The school serves 1,900 students at the moment.

To accommodate the reduction in size, the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission is considering moving students in the NWC of Chaparral’s boundary to Valley High School and Las Vegas High School.

Work includes roughly 165KSF of new construction and an overall gross building area of approximately 227KSF, according to DATABEX.

The new building is intended to address the deteriorating state of the current facility, while also accommodating declining enrollment districtwide.

Construction of the $182M school will take place from July, 2027 to May, 2029.
