Boards & Commissions

1. Carlos Zuluaga, the current president of the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association, recently received a year-long extension of his term. Zuluaga serves as the VP of operations for Tri Pointe Homes. KB Home Division President Aaron Hirschi will assume the role of president for 2026-2027.

2. The Nye County Commission officially brought in its new board members. Ian Bayne was elected to his first term in District Three and replaced Donna Cox. John Koenig returned to the commission as its District Two representative and replaced Frank Carbone. Bruce Jabbour won re-election and will remain on the board for four years. Ron Boskovich will serve as the chairman of the board with Debra Strickland serving as vice chair.

3. The Lyon County Commission has appointed Andrew Merritt to the Planning Commission. His term will run through the end of 2028.

4. The Nye County Commission promoted Nye County Planning Director Brett Waggoner to county manager. Waggoner was one of two employees considered for the role.
