Hotel/Casino Returns to Pahrump Planning Commission

Credit: Klai Juba Wald Architects/City of Pahrump

The Pahrump Regional Planning Commission unanimously approved a Conditional Use Permit for Majestic Pahrump Holdings, LLC’s 125-room hotel/casino located at 4867 S. Nevada Hwy. 160 in Pahrump.

The Silverton Ranch Casino and Hotel will consist of five stories, with the fifth being a parapet. The eight-acre parcel is currently zoned General Commercial and does not need a rezoning. The currently vacant side is bordered by Spring Mountain Motorsports to the north and east. South and west of the property is more vacant land.

Nye County Code allows for the hotel/casino in a generally zoned area if a CUP is granted. The CUP also allows buildings to exceed 48 feet in height. The casino is planned to have a height of 75 feet.

The 125 hotel rooms will be split between the first four floors. Project documents indicate the 33.4KSF casino/patio/gaming area consists of 15.2KSF of casino, bar and restaurant space, 14.3KSF of back of house area, 3.8KSF of patio space. The building will also include a 6KSF outdoor entertainment event lawn/pool.

Officials with Nye County already reviewed the project and, according to the applicant, found the project to be a “perfect fit” within the county and Pahrump. The applicant also claimed a portion of the utilities are already in place on the site.

The applicant intends to build a roundabout at the entrance of the property. Plans include 402 parking spaces, while only 359 are required. The submitted site plan was designed by Klai Juba Wald Architects.

Previous Iteration

This project was originally submitted and approved in 2018. The resubmittal comes as the original Conditional Use Permit expired alongside the Grading Permit and Dust Control Plans.

Previous news reports originally estimated the project’s completion to be in 2020. The plans stayed mostly consistent with the original submittal. A key difference, however, is the fifth floor becoming a parapet.

  1. Good morning, we are residents of Mountain Falls, we are very excited as other residents of having the Silverton Casino nearby. We have not heard any news on the project. We need encouraging news on the progress on the project. Thank you , Mountain Falls family

  2. Will the Silverton ha ve a movie theater as part of the project? I’ve heard it would, but don’t see it in the proposal. We certainly would like one.

  3. would love to see this come true we need a movie theater too and some nice swimming pools.
