Groundbreakings

1. The $130M Summerlin Parkway interchange project, intended to improve the efficiency of the interchange, began Feb. 10. The three-year project will widen roads and includes the construction of four new bridges. In addition, the project’s plans include structural and drainage upgrades, street and sidewalk improvements, and other traffic, lighting and utility work. Construction was originally planned to begin last year but was delayed due to prolonged design work and an oversight change. The Nevada Department of Transportation is not directly involved in the project. More improvements are being considered in the north area of the valley.

2. Montane Building Group, in collaboration with The Conco Companies, recently broke ground on Milan Industrial Building A. The building will be 652KSF and is located at 855 Milan Dr. The project will include land preparation, structural work, and mechanical systems.

3. Construction is now underway on a new chapel for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Cross Bridge Drive near Sky Vista Drive in Las Vegas. It is planned to be 16KSF and will complete work in October. The Church broke ground on the chapel last month. The project will include a 67-ft steeple. The Church bought the project site in 2018 for $2.4M from Howard Hughes Holdings.

Completions

4. Renovations to the GO Pool at the Flamingo are set to complete as early as March 17. The $20M renovation is set to expand the pool to 1.5 acres and includes a swim-up bar, climate-controlled water and a 50-foot waterfall. The project began last fall, and the design was collaborated on by Pacific Custom Pools and MO+A design studio. The pool is part of a multi-phase transformation that will continue after its opening.

5. An opening date was released via Google Maps for three upcoming Aldi locations. The grocery stores will be constructed at 7150 S. Rainbow Blvd., 621 Marks St. and 2016 W. Craig Road. The Moreno Valley Divisional VP of Aldi confirmed the three locations. These three stores are among 800 that were announced for the U.S. in March 2024.

6. Sierra Flats Senior, the first phase of an affordable housing project in the works since 2019, is officially welcoming residents. This development is replacing a Carson City-owned vacant lot. The property is located at 3320 Butti Way in Carson City and originally broke ground in 2022. The complex is currently at 94% capacity and is pre-leasing one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for its second phase.
