Groundbreakings

1. The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority has broken ground on the Ground Transportation Center, a $299M, 440KSF facility at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The four-story project will consolidate rental car operations and provide space for rideshare, taxi and shuttle services. It is being developed through a public-private partnership with Conrac Solutions and Meridiam and is scheduled for completion in 2028.

2. Lyon County will hold a groundbreaking Nov. 13 for the Charles J. Kirk Lyon County Government Complex in Dayton. The facility will house the Dayton Justice Court, District Attorney’s Office, Human Services Office and Sheriff’s Substation. CORE Construction is the general contractor and Project One is the developer.

Progress Reports

3. The Nevada Department of Transportation has completed the first construction season of its two-year US 50 repaving project between Spooner Summit and the Nevada/California border at Stateline. Work this year resurfaced 5.5 miles of roadway and installed new conduit, culvert reinforcements and curb improvements. The final phase, scheduled for April through October 2026, will complete paving on the remaining eight miles.

4. Brightline West has begun infrastructure work on Las Vegas Blvd. between Eldorado Lane and Robindale Road to prepare the site for its future Las Vegas station. The work includes the construction of a box culvert, a new storm drain connection and a sewer line realignment.
