Groundbreakings
1. Prospect Street Capital held a groundbreaking ceremony for Deer Springs Commercial Center. The 34.2KSF office project will be constructed at 8645 W. Deer Springs Way in Centennial Hills. The development was designed by Avaruus Studios and is being constructed by Burke Construction Group.
2. Nevada State University broke ground on its future North Las Vegas campus at 800 E. Lake Mead Blvd. The project includes a three-story, 30KSF academic building that will anchor the 19-acre NLV Gateway mixed-use development. The City of North Las Vegas and Agora Realty and Management Inc. are partnering on the project, and SCA Design is the architect. The campus is expected to open in fall 2027.
3. Century Communities and the City of Las Vegas broke ground on the Igor Soldo Memorial Park April 30. The park is named after a police officer who was fatally wounded in the line of duty on June 14, 2014. The park is located near Iron Mountain Road and Alpine Ridge Way. It is scheduled to open early 2027.
Progress Reports
4. Construction is nearing completion on the Culinary Health Center, a two-story, roughly 99KSF medical complex at 4805 W. Tropicana Ave. in Las Vegas. The approximately $115M project is being developed by ORG Portfolio Management and is expected to be completed in June.
Completions
5. The Vanderpump Hotel is preparing to open next month on the Las Vegas Strip. The 188-room hotel is a redevelopment of The Cromwell. The hotel will begin serving patrons on May 29.
6. Pearson Pines Senior Apartments, a 118-unit affordable housing community at 2530 Morton Ave. in North Las Vegas, has opened. The project by Nevada HAND combined the renovation of an existing 58-unit building with the construction of a new 60-unit building. Development costs totaled $21.1M for the new-construction phase and $10.6M for the rehabilitation phase.
7. Cherry Development announced it is opening its 104-unit shareDOWNTOWNapartment complex in June. The complex is located at the corner of D Street and Jefferson Avenue in Las Vegas. The workforce housing development features 84 units priced between 80% and 120% of the Area Median Income.
8. Clark/Sullivan Construction announced Phase One of the Vaughn Middle School in Reno will be completed May 17. Phase Two – the demolition of the existing school and construction of new fields – will commence during summer break. Clark/Sullivan Construction served as the general contractor. TSK Architects designed the Washoe County School District project.
9. Helix Electric announced the completion of One18 Westin Reno. The 86-unit residential complex features studios and one-bedroom units, as well as a fitness center and future retail space.
10. Clark County is celebrating the grand opening of the Desert Breeze Ballfields on May 2. Desert Breeze Park is located at 8275 Spring Mountain Road. The expansion adds four new baseball fields to the park. The space was designed to accommodate players with physical and cognitive disabilities.
