The National Basketball Association has narrowed its search for a Las Vegas basketball team to three interested parties.

The franchise and arena are expected to combine for somewhere between $12B and $13B. For reference, the Los Angeles Lakers were recently purchased for $12.5B.

The first group is comprised of Nancy Walton Laurie and Bill Laurie. The second group is Bill Foley of the Vegas Golden Knights and former Phoenix Suns owner Jerry Colangelo. The final group consists of Milwaukee Bucks’ co-owner Marc Lasry and billionaire Steve Apostolopoulos.

If the Foley and Colangelo group, also known as The Jacks, wins the bid, the new team will not play at T-Mobile Arena with the Golden Knights; it will have its own separate arena. The Jacks are currently working with Manica Architecture to design a potential stadium.

While the date of the official decision has yet to be announced, it is expected to be announced shortly. (Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal)
