Groundbreakings
1. Harveys Lake Tahoebegan a $160M renovation effort that encompasses the entirety of its 1.6MSF resort and casino at 18 Hwy 50 in Stateline. The overhaul is expected to take approximately two years to complete, with a construction break in the summer. The resort/casino will remain open while under construction.
2. Las Vegas and North Las Vegas are jointly improving Lake Mead Blvd. from Losee Road to Simmons Street with a complete streets project. Work began Tuesday, Nov. 12, and will continue through fall 2026. The contractor is Holcim, Inc. The $37.7M project budget is funded by the Regional Transportation Commission’s Fuel Revenue Index Fund and the Las Vegas’ Sanitary Sewer Enterprise Fund.
3. River West Mini Storage has broken ground on its 164-unit storage facility at 277 Chism St. in Reno. The storage units will have a video surveillance system, personalized security codes and flexible rentals. The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2025.
4. The City of Las Vegas began adding a traffic signal and related Intelligent Traffic System infrastructure at the Bradley Road/Elkhorn Road Intersection and construction of a Bradley Road/Deer Springs Way Roundabout on Nov. 12. Holcim-SWR, Inc. is the contractor. The project budget is approximately $3.1M, provided by the Regional Transportation Commission.

5. Mark IV Capital announced it is dedicating 40KSF of space within one of its speculative warehouses at 1740 Nevada Pacific Parkway in Fernley to create a Center of Excellence. The center intends to attract new business development within the region. The developer has set aside nearly 59 acres at its Victory Logistics District for additional campuses at the Center of Excellence. Approximately half the space will be dedicated to wet and dry labs, with the rest to be used as classrooms.
Completions
6. Wynn Las Vegashas completed its $70M renovations on its six villas. The villas range from 13KSF to 17KSF and took more than two years to complete upgrades. The villas can only be booked on an invitation-only basis. The resort/casino also recently finished a $200M renovation on other hotel rooms.
7. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Nov. 19 for the Metro Police’s Wellness Bureau Center on Tonopah Drive in Las Vegas. The center has seven full-time clinicians as well as six peer support liaisons to provide officers with mental health care.
