Groundbreakings
1. The Afton at Sparks Marina, a 142-unit affordable multifamily project, has officially broken ground at 1275 E. Prater Way in Sparks. The affordable housing project is intended to serve residents aged 62 and above. The development will be comprised of one- and two-bedroom units. Metcalf Builders is the general contractor of the project.
2. A Holiday Inn Express & Suiteshas broken ground in Sparks. The 93-room hotel is the sixth hotel managed by MacCall Management, LLC. Metcalf Builders is the general contractor. Completion is expected for February 2026.
Progress Reports
3. Repairs to the Cave Creek Damwithin the Cave Lake State Park near Ely have been finished. Work is still not done, however, as the lake was drained to allow construction of the dam. The Nevada Department of Wildlife estimates that it will take approximately nine months to refill the lake. The lake had begun to drain in 2021.
Completions
4. Ainsley at The Collective, a 388-unit apartment complex located at 3930 Paradise Road in Las Vegas, recently opened. The five-story apartment complex was developed by The Calida Group. The complex offers studio to three-bedroom units.
5. A 127-room Courtyard by Marriotthotel recently opened within the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center at 505 USA Parkway. The hotel is right down the road from Tesla Giga Nevada. Galaxy Hotels Group is the developer.
6. Ovation Physical Therapy, located at 3610 S. Highway 160, Suite 202, recently held its ribbon-cutting ceremony. The private clinic provides musculoskeletal therapy for joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and cartilage.
7. RISE Dispensaryat 3060 E. Highway 50 in Carson City held a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This marks the 100th RISE location in the nation. This is the fourth dispensary in the city, which saturates the permitted number of dispensaries within Carson City per the Carson City Board of Supervisors’2022 city code changes.
