Groundbreakings

1. Overnight construction on I-215 between Pecos Road and Stephanie Street in Henderson began June 22. Two lanes will remain open in each direction from 9 PM to 5 AM, Sunday night through Friday morning.

2. Construction is underway on Phase II of The Oddie District, a mixed-use redevelopment at 2450 Oddie Blvd. in Reno-Sparks. Foothill Partners Inc. is the project developer, with investment capital provided by Belay Investment Group and construction financing by Heritage Bank of Nevada. Phase I, which opened in 2022, relocated The Reno Generator to the site. Phase II is expected to be completed in late 2025 or early 2026. The Oddie Commons, part of the expansion, will offer indoor/outdoor food and entertainment space.

Progress Reports

3. Dermody Properties is nearing completion on two major industrial projects. United Construction is the GC for both. The first, located in Spanish Springs, consists of two buildings totaling 385KSF at LogistiCenter at Kiley Ranch. The 198KSF first building is set to deliver within weeks. The second will follow in 60-90 days. The second major project, located at Reno AirLogistics Park in Stead, also consists of two buildings. The nearly complete first building totals 468.7KSF, with a second 654.5KSF facility now in site prep. As the Reno AirLogistics Park expands, an extension of Moya Blvd. will be built to connect the facilities to the Reno Tahoe Airport.

Completions

4. Ovation Development Corp. has opened Heirloom at Pebble, a 195-unit affordable senior housing complex at 2325 E. Torino Ave. in the southern Las Vegas Valley. The four-story, age-restricted project offers one- and two-bedroom apartments. The $48M development was funded in part by Clark County, the Nevada Housing Division and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, with land contributed by the Bureau of Land Management.

5. Evening Entertainment Group will open Bottled Blonde Las Vegas on June 26 at 3639 Las Vegas Blvd., with a grand opening event set for July 18. The $50M, 25KSF, three-story venue at Grand Bazaar Shops will operate as a restaurant by day and transition into a nightlife destination at night.

6. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation has completed an $8.9M project to recoat four river outlet pipes at Glen Canyon Dam two months ahead of schedule and under budget. The pipes, used for high-flow water releases into the Colorado River, received new epoxy and polysiloxane coatings to address interior damage. The upgrade ensures reliable water delivery and ecological management if Lake Powell levels fall below hydropower intake thresholds.

7. The University Medical Center’s Crisis Stabilization Center recently opened at its 5409 E. Lake Mead Blvd. campus in North Las Vegas. The center features 35 outpatient recliner chairs throughout its treatment rooms. It also features group therapy rooms.

8. MountainView Hospital celebrated the opening of its Sarah Cannon Transplant and Cellular Therapy facility at 2150 N. Tenaya Way in Las Vegas. The 12KSF facility costs $3M and focuses on stem cell therapy and transplants. It includes a variety of examination rooms, infusion stations and other rooms specialized for numerous procedures.
