Master Plan and Zoning Change Approved for Clear Acre Commons in Reno

Reno City Council approved a master plan and zoning change for the mixed-use Clear Acre Commons project during its May 6 meeting.

The property is currently owned by the City of Reno but will be sold to the Northern Nevada Building and Construction Trades Council Development Corporation once the project receives its final approval. Once the land is purchased, the nonprofit will serve as both the owner and developer.

Aryte Group LLC is the project representative and applicant. KEPHART is the design firm. NVBEX broke this story in January. (NVBEX: Jan. 20; March 26)

The mixed-use development is proposed on a 27.1-acre site northeast of Clear Acre and Scottsdale roads. The proposal features housing, a park, outdoor gathering spaces, a community club/leasing facility, parking and commercial/office space.

The central feature is the housing development. There will be 712 units, 407 of which will be designated as affordable. Housing types will be varied and range from senior multifamily buildings to general townhomes. The commercial/office space will total 14.4KSF and be implemented on the ground floors of different buildings.

The proposal will next appear before the Truckee Meadows Regional Planning Commission before developers are able to apply for permits.
