1. BOXABL Inc. announced Co-Founder and Co-CEO Galiano Tiramani donated 6.25M shares of BOXABL stock to Catholic Church Charities USA. The stocks are valued at approximately $5M based on the last public sale price.

Awards & Accolades

2. The Nevada Chapter of the American Planning Association announced the winners of its 2025 DeBoer Excellence in Planning Awards. Individual honorees are:

  • Dian VanderWell, Elected Official Award, for leadership in advancing zoning code updates and economic diversification;
  • Cathy Laughlin, Professional Planner Award, for revitalization efforts in downtown Elko;
  • Maureen Casey, Citizen Planner Award, for public service and advocacy in land use planning;
  • Alfredo Melesio Jr., President’s Award, for leadership and mentorship in the planning profession, and
  • John Hester, Special President’s Award, for decades of contributions to planning and community development in Nevada.

Project awards will be presented to:

  • RTC of Southern Nevada for the Let’s Go 2050 Regional Transportation Plan;
  • Alicia Barber for The Barber Brief, and
  • City of Henderson for the Open Space and Trails Plan.

Awards will be presented at the Nevada State Planning Conference October 23rd–24th in Minden.

Boards & Commissions

3. Cory Frank, VP of Business Development and Project Management at Nigro Construction, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas. He brings more than 15 years of commercial construction experience and will offer a developer’s perspective to support the organization’s housing efforts in Southern Nevada.

4. Amanda Eastwick, Director at Cushman & Wakefield, is a founding member of Women in Industrial, Logistics and Development, a new organization formed to support women working in industrial real estate, logistics and development. Other founding members include Makenna Backstrom of Colliers, Lindy Deller of Panattoni Development Co., Beki Dobson of Miller Industrial Properties, Tommy Jo Lynch of CBRE, Tiffany Novich of Full Tilt Logistics and Christina Rangel of Prologis.

He began as an owner in a local architectural firm designing and overseeing projects for Public Works clients for nearly 12 years. He clearly understands the expectations of the public sector, as he then directed numerous projects for over 16 years as the City Architect for the City of Henderson. His focus has always been delivering projects using CMAR or Construction Manager at Risk as he has implemented dozens of projects with his trusted approach, while always involving every stakeholder to ensure each individual receives the highest level of services expected.
