Groundbreakings
1. The Nevada Department of Transportation has begun a $68M project to replace seven bridges along I-80 west of Reno between Mae Anne Avenue and Boomtown. The multi-year effort will include bridge replacements and corridor improvements designed to enhance safety and accommodate modern traffic demands. Construction is expected to continue through spring 2028.
2. Construction is underway on the $38M Las Vegas Blvd. North Improvement Project in North Las Vegas, spanning from East Tonopah Avenue to East Carey Avenue. The project will include roadway resurfacing, along with storm drainage and underground utility upgrades. Lane closures and traffic shifts are expected throughout the approximately 18-month construction period.
3. The Town of Pahrump has started construction on its first splash pad at Simkins Park. Site work and installation of plumbing and water system components are underway. The project, awarded to Great Western Installations for $299.3K, will deliver a new recreational amenity supported by a T-Mobile Hometown Grant and local funding sources.
Progress Reports
4. Phase two construction is ongoing at the 73-acre Hylo Park development in North Las Vegas, with multiple commercial buildings now taking shape near Lake Mead Blvd. and Rancho Drive. The project includes retail, dining and financial space, alongside planned residential units and a youth sports facility. Additional construction on the northern portion is expected to begin soon.
