BLM Proposing Selling Lincoln County Land
NVBEX Staff
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management released a document that identifies 5,500 acres of Lincoln County land to be sold publicly.
The proposed land is made up of 66 lots located in Alamo, Caliente, Crestline, Hiko Panaca, Pioche, Mt. Wilson and Rachel. Opening the land for sale is in line with the 2004 Lincoln County Conservation, Recreation and Development Act.
Some of the land is focused along the Extraterrestrial Highway in Rachel, while other plots are located near the landfill in Crestline. Many proposed areas are relatively lacking in development.
A public comment period is open until April 25. The proposed sale stirred controversy on social media, including comments questioning the legality of selling public land. (Source)
