An equipment failure at the Hylo Park Ice Arena is allowing developers to conduct a full renovation of the facility.

The Ice Arena is operated by the Vegas Golden Knights.

Agora Realty CEO Cary Lefton said the development team is looking into long-term solutions to improve the ice rink and allow it to better serve the community. The renovation is intended to both improve the quality of the facility and make it more energy efficient.

The developer said the company has spent more than $750K to keep the ice rink operational. A new air-chiller system and expanded bleachers are part of the renovation project. Developers expect the renovation to last between 12 and 14 months.

Hylo Park Sports Village

The Ice Arena is part of the “sports village” portion of the development. The sports village sits toward the northern half of the 73-acre master plan.

Additional aspects of the sports village include a 175-room hotel, a 200KSF indoor sports facility and an outdoor turf field, among other attractions.
