The Carson City Board of Supervisors voted to move forward with the Hop and Mae Adams Foundation’s proposed Carson City City Hall.

The approval is specifically for a lease-purchase agreement for the property; however, subsequent approvals will be needed in the coming years to solidify the agreement.

Funding stems from roughly $14.6M in redevelopment funds from fiscal years 2026-2030. After redevelopment funds are used, the City of Carson City will turn to $1.1M in extraordinary maintenance funds. Then, City officials plan to issue roughly $7M in revenue bonds, bringing the total cost to $22.8M.

Frame Architecture, Inc. is the architect. As of BEX’s last inquiries with HMAF, a general contractor has yet to be selected. This project has appeared in several NVBEX articles.

The City also plans to fund a parking garage by selling the current city hall for $4.2M and using $3.8M from the redevelopment fund. In total, the project is expected to cost between $28M and $30M. Property taxes will not be raised to fund the development.

The Carson City City Hall is expected to total 45KSF, and the parking garage will contain 200 spaces. (Source: Nevada Appeal)
