Nye County Warns Developers of Fraudulent Billing Scam

The Nye County Planning Department warns residents of a fraudulent billing scam affecting those applying for construction permits. These deceptive bills are NOT legitimate—applicants should NOT send money or wire transfers without verification.

If you receive an unexpected bill and are working with the Planning Department, contact the office immediately at 775-751-4249 to confirm its authenticity.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office has been notified, and authorities are investigating the scam. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
