Zoning Change Recommended for Potential Mental Health Clinic in Moapa Valley

The Moapa Valley Town Advisory Board recommended approval of a zone change request for Quantum Peak Ventures LLC’s 0.92-acre plot of land at Whipple Ave. and Moapa Valley Blvd., which could result in the construction of a mental health facility.

The site is currently zoned Residential Single Family. The TAB recommended approval of a rezoning to Commercial General.

The Mesa Valley Progress reported the rezoning would clear the way for behavioral health company Crimson Heights to construct a clinic.

The agenda sheet states the rezoning is to offer a more flexible site that could be used for a variety of commercial uses. It goes on to say the CG zoning will allow owners to meet community needs and seek economic opportunities. The owners currently do not have construction planned for the site.

Crimson Heights also stated it has received inquiries from families in the area seeking support. If a clinic were to be constructed, it would be an outpatient facility with regular 9-to-5 hours.

If no action is taken on the parcel within the next two years, the site will revert to its original zoning. The Clark County Zoning Commission will consider the request during its Sept. 3 meeting.
