Progress Reports
2. The University of Nevada, Reno is currently in the midst of renovating Manzanita Lakeand its adjacent grassy field. The entirety of the $7M project consists of structural and utility upgrades, as well as aesthetic improvements.
(WIP Nevada State Railroad Museum; Ron Eland/Boulder City Review) The Nevada State Railroad Museum is on track to complete construction in spring 2026. The visitor center, welcome plaza and passenger loading platforms are expected to be finished toward the end of April. Once construction is complete, the exhibits will be installed, and the museum will be open to the public in the fall.
Completions
3. The Nevada Department of Transportation recently finished the nearly 20-mile roadway rehabilitation project on U.S. Highway 95 near Searchlight. The pavement preservation project is expected to increase drainage efficiency, visibility and wildlife protection efforts.
