1. ABC Nevada recently held its Excellence in Constructionsafety recognition and awards luncheon. First-place awardees were:

  • James Down Towers Modernization Project; Cobblestone Construction – General Contractor Renovation ($10M-$100M),
  • MorningStar at the Canyons; SR Construction Inc. – General Contractor Health Care ($25M-$100M),
  • Bob Marley Hope Road Experience at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino; Martin-Harris Construction – General Contractor – Special Projects ($2M-$100M),
  • Ainsley at The Collective Luxury Apartments; Martin-Harris Construction – General Contractor Multifamily Residential (up to $100M),

Second-place awardees consisted of:

  • RTC Bus Stop Phase II; Helix Electric – Specialty Contractor Electrical: Commercial ($2M-$10M) and
  • Women’s Cancer Center; Helix Electric – Specialty Contractor Electrical: Commercial (less than $2M).

Progress Reports

2. The University of Nevada, Reno is currently in the midst of renovating Manzanita Lakeand its adjacent grassy field. The entirety of the $7M project consists of structural and utility upgrades, as well as aesthetic improvements.

(WIP Nevada State Railroad Museum; Ron Eland/Boulder City Review) The Nevada State Railroad Museum is on track to complete construction in spring 2026. The visitor center, welcome plaza and passenger loading platforms are expected to be finished toward the end of April. Once construction is complete, the exhibits will be installed, and the museum will be open to the public in the fall.

Completions

3. The Nevada Department of Transportation recently finished the nearly 20-mile roadway rehabilitation project on U.S. Highway 95 near Searchlight. The pavement preservation project is expected to increase drainage efficiency, visibility and wildlife protection efforts.

He has worked in the Las Vegas Valley and for the Public Works sector for nearly 35 years. He began as an owner in a local architectural firm designing and overseeing projects for Public Works clients for nearly 12 years. He clearly understands the expectations of the public sector, as he then directed numerous projects for over 16 years as the City Architect for the City of Henderson. His focus has always been delivering projects using CMAR or Construction Manager at Risk as he has implemented dozens of projects with his trusted approach, while always involving every stakeholder to ensure each individual receives the highest level of services expected.
