Hard Rock Las Vegas is planning to construct a 2,000-seat theater in addition to its under-construction hotel/resort on the Strip.

The West Theater will see the addition of 179KSF to the overall footprint of the project. The addition is separate from the former Love Theater. The Love Theater is being transformed into the 5,000-seat Hard Rock Live arena. The existing Mirage Theater will also be repurposed, but those details have yet to be announced.

The application lists Mirage Propco, LLC as the property owner, while HR Las Vegas Owner, LLC is the applicant. Kaempfer Crowell is providing legal representation. Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors is the architect. The PENTA Building Group is the general contractor behind the greater hotel; however, as the West Theater is still in its early stages, an official general contractor has yet to be named.

The new theater will have a 61KSF auditorium space. There will be a 67.5KSF pre-function/backstage area, as well as 37.9KSF of back-of-the-house space. The upper-level technical area will span 12.8KSF. It will have five stories with a maximum height of 126 feet.

A karaoke venue will be installed on the second floor. The theater will attach to an interior promenade.

The staff report indicates the west theater will be constructed on a 1.55-acre portion of the overall 76.93-acre site.

The building will mostly be made up of white EIFS panels. The roofline will see an upper pop-out for a cornice structure. Carve-outs will be implemented along its base, creating room for loading dock access. The south, northwest and west façades will feature metal access doors.

The Paradise Town Advisory Board is scheduled to review the proposal during its June 30 meeting. The Clark County Board of County Commissioners will then make its decision sometime in July.
