Awards & Accolades

1. Engineering News Record recognized the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix Pit Building with the 2024 Best Project Award – Sports and Entertainment. Penta Building Group served as the general contractor. Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors was the architect. FEA Consulting Engineers provided mechanical, plumbing, low voltage, environmental and lighting services.

Progress Reports

2. Demolition of the Mirage on the Strip has continued into 2025. The demolition will provide space for the new guitar-shaped Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. The nearly $1.1B Hard Rock is currently scheduled to open in 2027.

3. The $385M I-15-Tropicana Avenueproject is approaching completion. In March, the project is expected to wrap up its work on mainline I-15. The I-15 northbound off-ramp to Tropicana/Frank Sinatra Drive, the reconfiguration of Dean Martin Drive, a new route underneath the Tropicana bridge and the new Joey Bishop Drive are all slated to be completed within the coming months. The southern portion of the Tropicana bridge over I-15 and the widening of Tropicana between Polaris Avenue and Valley View Drive are slated for completion this fall.

4. The 215 Beltway Wideningproject between Interstate-15 and Jones Blvd. is continuing work into 2025. The project consists of an additional lane in each direction, upgrades to the interchange of Las Vegas Blvd. and 215, the Las Vegas Blvd. off-ramp from I-25 to 215 eastbound and the 215 eastbound on-ramp from Las Vegas Blvd. The new westbound lane will extend to Jones, and the eastbound lane will go from Decatur to I-15. The project will cost $84.6M.

5. The next phase of work on the upgrade of Las Vegas Blvd.between Sahara Avenue and 215 Beltway is expected to begin in April. Work will occur on the Strip south of Tropicana and north of Russell Road. The project is expected to be completed in May 2026. Components include water line replacements, repaving, pedestrian crossing improvements, traffic signal upgrades and LED street lighting.

6. The Toll Brothers are building a 150-unit townhome community called Raven Crest in Summerlin. Properties are expected to be up for sale this spring, as construction has already started. The townhomes, located in the Kestrel Commons Village, will have three-and four-bedroom units. Each unit will have entry courtyards, covered patios, rooftop terraces and optional elevators.

Completions

7. The West Henderson Hospitalin Henderson has been completed. SR Construction, the general contractor, broke ground on the project in March 2022. The 150-bed facility covers seven stories. The facility is planned to grow to up to 450 beds.

8. Bishop Gorman High Schoolheld a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new two-story, 40KSF building. The building consists of an innovation lab, oratory lab, student lounge, coffee shop and broadcast media center.
