Progress Reports
1. Grand Sierra Resort temporarily paused construction on its planned 10,000-seat arena in Reno after preliminary soil samples taken during early site work showed trace environmental contamination indicators. The arena, which broke ground Sept. 30 and is part of a 10-year expansion projected to cost $1B, will resume work once the standard remediation plan submitted to regulatory agencies is cleared. GSR stated the brief pause will not affect the project’s overall timeline, as crews are being reallocated during the review.
2. MP Core LLC’s renovation of the former Ross Manor building into the One 18 West apartment project in downtown Reno is advancing toward an expected late December completion. ARCäDESMA Architecture is leading the redesign. The 1907 structure has been fully gutted to remove asbestos, install a complete fire safety system and upgrade utilities and mechanical systems to current code. The remaining historic elements are being refinished where feasible.
Completions
