Atari Hotels recently announced it is no longer planning to build in Las Vegas.
The Las Vegas Atari Hotel was initially announced two months before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which heavily impacted production. Las Vegas was one of eight cities chosen for a hotel.
The Atari Hotel was supposed to be an immersive video game experience with virtual reality technology, as well as art installations and esports venues.
As of 2024, developers said they were discussing land partnerships and expected to release more details that year. The company is now turning its sights to the Phoenix location, which has seen the most success.
Editor’s Note: The Phoenix location appears as project #2512 in DATABEX. DATABEX is BEX’s online database that tracks Arizona construction projects in depth. The Nevada version is coming soon.
As of Dec. 17, the company has received $14M in investments for the Phoenix location and has acquired more than an acre of land. It is now seeking additional funding for the hotel and expects to complete it in 2028. (Source)
