Intermountain Health announced it has already raised $60M toward its planned Intermountain Health Children’s Hospital at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ Harry Reid Research and Technology Park.
Intermountain Health is the owner and developer. Shepley Bulfinch and Gensler are the design firms attached to the project. The PENTA Building Group and Jacobsen Construction have been selected as the general contractors.
While the project is still in the first third of its design phase, early estimates have shown it will be around 710KSF and feature more than 200 beds. (NVBEX, July 12; Nov. 11)
Intermountain Health Chief Development Officer David Flood told the Las Vegas Review-Journal the hospital is expected to cost more than $1B.
He added that, while fundraising plans are still early, developers are expecting to raise approximately one-third of construction costs from the local community. The fundraiser is expected to become increasingly more public within the next year. Flood noted donors will be able to select where their funds go.
The first five years of construction are anticipated to have an economic impact of $724M. The hospital will employ roughly 1,334 people.
Groundbreaking is expected to occur within the coming months to allow the hospital to open by 2030.
