Following a recommendation from the Planning Commission, the Las Vegas City Council approved Clark County School District’s proposed Skye Canyon Elementary School during its Feb. 18 meeting.
CCSD is the owner and developer. Ethos Three Architecture is the architect, while SLA Land Architects is the landscape architect. Project presentations have stated the project is out for bid, but BEX is unable to confirm that with an open, active general contractor bid. NVBEX was the first outlet to report on this story. (NVBEX; Jan. 16)
The two-building elementary school is proposed on an 11.85-acre site near West Skye Canyon Park Drive and Shaumber Road in the Skye Canyon Master Planned Community.

Plans are still in process for the currently unnamed elementary school, but current designs have enough space for up to 63 classrooms, eight of which would be portable. The school is expected to serve up to 850 students.
The Skye Canyon school is intended to alleviate pressure from other schools in the rapidly growing area. This area is unique in that the majority of CCSD schools are experiencing enrollment declines, while schools near the Skye Canyon area are rapidly growing.
Construction is anticipated to begin this summer and be completed by the beginning of the 2027/2028 school year. The Clark County School District Board of Trustees is scheduled to have a meeting on March 4 to discuss potential new K-12 construction projects.
