Barton Health announced it is entering the Cleveland Clinic Connected Program, meaning the Cleveland Clinic will contribute to the building design, patient flow and space optimization of the planned Barton Stateline Hospital.
The hospital is to be constructed on a 6.7-acre site that was formerly home to the Lakeside Inn and Casino. Barton Health is the owner, while the Cleveland Clinic is assisting in developmental services. Neenan Archistruction submitted initial designs for the project while, according to Barton representatives, Infusion Architects is now serving as the architect. A general contractor has yet to be selected at this time. (NVBEX: Jan. 3; May 8)
Plans currently call for a 230KSF hospital building with a maximum height of 80 feet. The building will total five stories, which includes one below-grade level for parking.
The hospital will include 28 inpatient rooms, a surgery department with seven operating rooms, an obstetrics and labor/delivery area with five rooms, a five-bed intensive care unit, and a 20-bed Level Three trauma center.
The parking garage will have 255 parking spaces, with 170 surface and 85 below-grade parking spaces. Plans also include the development of a pedestrian overpass across U.S. Highway 50, which will connect the existing Nevada campus on the east side of U.S. Highway 50 with the new project site.
According to a press release from the Cleveland Clinic, the partnership is intended to improve care by allowing Barton access to the Cleveland Clinic’s resources. This will allow the owner to improve its cardiology, oncology and neurology practices.
The Cleveland Clinic will also offer advisory services, education and training for staff members. Project representatives stated that if everything goes to plan the proposal will be approved within 12 months. Currently, Barton expects to break ground in 2027.
