Groundbreakings
1. Two affordable housing complexes broke ground in Las Vegas. Duncan and Edwards, located at 5901 W. Duncan Dr., and 28th and Sunrise, at 2601 Sunrise Ave. are both being developed by The Michaels Foundation. Both complexes will have one- to four-bedroom units. Duncan and Edwards will feature 80 apartments in six two-story buildings, and 28th and Sunrise will hold 121. Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and the American Rescue Plan Act through the Home Means Nevada initiative provided funding for the project.
2. The second phase of Victory Logistics District in Fernley, a 4,300-acre industrial development by Mark IV Capital, is now underway. The project has nearly 2MSF of Class A distribution space completed. Phase II includes 600 acres of grading, preparing 1,600 acres for future development, and $120M in infrastructure upgrades to support industrial, manufacturing, and hyperscale data center campuses. The first phase involved constructing the first building and grading more than 400 acres.
Progress Reports
3. After nearly seven months of construction, the Silverado Ranch DMV celebrated a topping-off ceremony for its 81.5KSF Customer Services Center and Commercial Drivers’ License Facilities on Feb. 27. Collaborators on the project include the State Public Works Department, TSK Architects, CORE Construction and OCMI, Inc. Construction is estimated at $89.4M.
Completions
4. A 2.3KSF restaurant was just completed at the University of Nevada, Reno. Ruby’s Shake Shop, located at 1703 N. Virginia St., is on a 3.7KSF lot and built from the ground up. Metcalf Builders worked on the $2.4M project.
