Groundbreakings
1. Washoe County began demolition Sept. 16 on the former West Hills Hospital at 1240 E. Ninth St. to make way for the 46KSF Washoe Behavioral Health Center, a roughly $23M project designed by H + K Architects. The 70-bed facility is scheduled to open in late 2027.
2. The NRP Group has started construction on North & Valley, a 105-unit affordable housing development in North Las Vegas. The five-acre site will include two four-story buildings with one- to three-bedroom units. Financing comes through a mix of tax credits, loans and public funds, and work is expected to be completed in April 2027.

3. Station Casinos’ Green Valley Ranch is undergoing a $200M property-wide renovation, with redesigned 69KSF meeting and convention space set to debut Jan. 2026. The station’s in-house team is leading updates in partnership with architecture studios WATG and Wimberly Interiors. The refreshed spaces will accommodate gatherings from 50 to 5,000 guests. Guest rooms and suites will follow in later phases.
4. Construction on The Boring Company’s Las Vegas tunnel project has been paused following a worker injury.
Completions
5. Ovation Development has opened Heirloom at Rome, a 276-unit senior affordable community at Rome Blvd. and Decatur Blvd. in North Las Vegas. The $78M project features 38 standalone 400SF tiny homes and one- and two-bedroom apartments ranging from 664 to 891SF. The first residents moved in on Sept. 1.
6. Residence Inn by Marriott has opened a 128-room hotel in South Reno. The property is owned by the Pegram and Carano families and operated by Azul Hospitality.
