As is BEX tradition,
We like to call out entities
who just do not listen.
Setting harsh deadlines,
nixing long silent nights,
Driven by timing
that just ain’t too bright.
‘Tis the time of year one deserves
Rich foods, nice hors d’oeuvres.
Not to be worried with proposals and such,
But to spend time with family and drink far too much!
And as Santa approaches,
We call out the roaches.
So take a look at these bid boards,
And see whom we’re shaming with Bah Humbug! Awards.

The Nevada Department of Wildlife is guilty this season.
A deadline so late is lacking all reason.
NDOW is seeking improved housing in Winnemucca,
They just don’t care about your New Year plans, sucka.
They then double down
with office improvements same day,
Creating a rough first impression
with their future workmates.
The Department of the Interior is running
a similar maneuver,
With the same deadline seeking
equipment for the Dam of Hoover.
Dec. 30
The Gerlach General Improvement District
Want engineers for a rehab,
Their inconsiderate bid planning
Leaves the whole Season drab.
U Nevada at Reno
Then joins the table,
As their HVAC systems
are not so stable.
Jan. 5
And last, Boulder City
wants a new Control Tower,
Meeting this deadline
Will make estimators cower.
Though these poorly timed due dates
may seem like a hex,
