Planned Costco in Southwest Valley to Move Forward

Credit: MG2/Clark County

The Clark County Commission is holding a public hearing on Feb. 5 regarding a development agreement between the County and Costco Wholesale Corp. for a new Costco location.

The 157.6KSF Costco is to be built on the east side of Buffalo Drive, south of 215 Beltway. The project consists of a retail building, a gas station and a tire center. Plans were originally approved in September 2023, with conditions of approval surrounding the development agreement. One of those conditions states a development agreement must be signed before permits can be issued.

Since staff had the agreement in hand last month, a grading permit for the site was issued by the Clark County Building Department in December.

The site is currently owned by the county, while a private company has a ground lease for the land. The private company is subleasing the site to Costco.

Submitted documents from 2023 indicated EJM Development Co. is the developer of the project. Site and elevation plans were prepared by MG2.

Costco currently has five locations in the Las Vegas Valley. If commissioners approve the development agreement, work can begin on the project. (Source)
