Groundbreakings
1. Construction is underway on a new Albertsons grocery store near the NEC of Decatur Blvd. and Elkhorn Road in North Las Vegas. Developed by Vestar, the build-to-suit project will include a roughly 62KSF stand-alone store on a six-acre site. Crews broke ground in early December, and Albertsons is expected to take occupancy in the first quarter of 2027. Total project costs exceed $20M.
2. The City of Las Vegas will break ground Jan. 8 on a new pickleball complex at Wayne Bunker Park, located at 7351 W. Alexander Road. The $12M project will be built on an undeveloped portion of the park and will include 24 pickleball courts, making it the city’s largest facility of its kind. Construction is expected to be completed in 2027, with funding provided through the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act.
Progress Reports
3. Construction is continuing on the guitar-shaped hotel tower at the Hard Rock Las Vegas resort on the Las Vegas Strip, where the former Mirage property is being redeveloped. The nearly 700-foot-tall tower has multiple floors in place, with exterior glass beginning to appear along the lower portion of the structure. The Mirage closed in July 2024 to make way for the project, which is expected to be completed in 2027.
4. The Reimagine Boulder Highway project in Henderson recently hit the halfway point, as construction continues along the 7.5-mile corridor. The Regional Transportation Commission’s $184M project began construction in summer 2024, and crews are now focused on work along the remaining stretch after completing major utility and roadway preparation in 2025. Construction will continue through 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2027.
Completions
5. Improvements at Indian Springs Park, located at 715 Gretta Lane in Indian Springs, are complete. The project included construction of a half-mile concrete walking trail, new playground facilities, shade structures and supporting park infrastructure.
