The City of Henderson announced its plans to redevelop the former Fiesta Henderson casino property with Woodbury Corp. have fallen through.
Henderson purchased the 35-acre property for $32M. While details surrounding the partnership are sparse, the negotiating agreement between the City and developer expired Feb. 20. In its announcement, the City noted it still plans to develop the site.
Henderson first announced its partnership with Woodbury on Aug. 6, 2024. The announcement listed Woodbury as both the developer and design firm. Henderson stated locals would prefer an indoor sports facility with family-oriented entertainment/arts and culture, a wide range of public spaces and a development that has a likelihood of making a return on investment. Henderson surveyed residents to arrive at this conclusion.
The overall site plan developed by Woodbury was set to have restaurants, retail, hotels, residential, medical office buildings and an indoor sporting complex. The City intends to release another request-for-qualifications soon, with the intention of finalizing a deal before fall of this year.
