The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance and the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada are joining forces to create the Nevada Economic Developers Association.
NEDA is intended to bring together statewide economic development professionals to share knowledge and practices.
Taylor Adams of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada said the Association will help create unity among the profession and benefit the entire state.
LVGEA’s Danielle Casey said this is just the beginning of the Association and that it will be able to stand on its own two feet after a couple of years. She also said that she would like to see a variety of regional development authorities involved from utilities to elected officials.
The Association will also provide additional opportunities and training to Nevada’s rural communities. Additionally, it is intended to further unite Las Vegas and Reno and foster collaboration between Nevada’s two largest metropolitan areas.
Casey said the nonprofit is likely to launch next year. The first training program is expected to come online in Q2. (Source)
