
Construction has begun on the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau Office Annex, an approximately 88.7KSF, three-story office building in downtown Carson City. Alston Construction was selected to build the project, which is scheduled for exterior completion in November and full completion in fall 2027. The facility will support the future operational needs of the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau.
A new Early Childhood Education Center for the College of Southern Nevada‘s Charleston campus is now under construction, following a groundbreaking ceremony held on June 15. The facility will house CSN’s Early Childhood Education Lab, which has provided childcare services and educator training for more than 40 years. The project is being funded through a partnership with Campus for Hope, whose adjacent development prompted the lab’s temporary relocation to the North Las Vegas campus. The center is expected to open in fall 2028.
South Lyon Medical Center has broken ground on a new 8KSF clinic in Yerington. The $5.7M project, which Miles Construction is building, will include space for four medical providers, 12 exam rooms, two procedure rooms and a dedicated disaster recovery room. The facility will replace a modular clinic installed in 1998 and is expected to open in March.
The Athletics Ballpark is beginning to take shape on the Las Vegas Strip as crews advance construction on the $2B, 33,000-seat Major League Baseball venue. The project recently reached a milestone with the installation of the first of five roof truss arches, and the stadium’s 200-level concourse has been completed as a continuous loop around the facility. The ballpark is expected to open in April 2028.
NV Energy is advancing construction of Sierra Solar, a $1.5B renewable energy project on 6,787 acres in Churchill County. The development includes a 400MW solar array, a 1,600MWh battery energy storage system and associated transmission infrastructure. The battery storage component became operational in March, and installation of the solar array is continuing across the site. Kiewit is serving as the general contractor. The project is expected to be completed in early 2027.
Sales have begun for Aberdeen, a new gated residential community by Tri Pointe Homes in Summerlin’s Grand Park Village near West Lake Mead Blvd. and Calico Bend Drive. The development will include 131 homes across six floor plans, ranging from approximately 1.9KSF to 2.7KSF. Bassenian Lagoni Architects and ABLA designed the community, which is located near the planned 90-acre Grand Park.
Phase 1 of the Flamingo Wash Improvements Project has been completed along the stretch between Maryland Pkwy. and Cambridge Road in central Las Vegas. The $24.8M, two-phase project includes reinforced concrete channel improvements and safety enhancements designed to improve flood protection and restrict access to the wash. Clark County and the Clark County Regional Flood Control District are leading the effort. Phase 2, which extends from University Center Drive to Palos Verdes Street, is scheduled to begin in November and take approximately nine months to complete.
A new 3.1-mile trail system is now open at James Regional Sports Park in southwest Las Vegas. The $9.8M James Regional Sports Park Trail loops around the 107-acre sports complex and features separate paths for cyclists, pedestrians and runners, along with two tunnels beneath Robindale Road. Clark County unveiled the completed project on June 10.
